How to communicate with other aircraft online to state intentions:ATC is not always avaliable, even when flying online, so learn this well!
1. It is stated in the rules and regulations that when flying outside of a controlled airspace, that all pilots must tune to 122.80. If you are transmitting on 122.80, then then only pilots tuned to 122.80, will see the announcement. Some people follow the rules and tune to 122.80 and announce their intentions. Some people don't, so be very careful in uncontrolled airspace. A clarification: The use of 122.80 allows for TEXT communication only which can be READ by all other pilots on the IvAp MCDU and VATSIM's COMM box as well. Provided, in this case, the same frequency 122.80 is selected, within range and other pilots on UNICOM are reading the text message. As before, know the code of conduct: @ www.vatsur.org/home/paginas/coceng.pdfTransmittal of voice on 122.8 is not an option! Proper format:
